Budgeting for Holiday Purchases
Sparkling lights, hot chocolate and warm fireplaces. You may think it is early to be thinking about the holidays, but the holiday season will be here before you know it. This time is usually spent with family and friends and along with that comes buying gifts for your loved ones, but don’t stress over your budget this season! Follow these simple steps to conquer the holiday budget stress:
- Think about what you spent last year on presents. Was your bank account on the low end?
- Don’t get wrapped up in Black Friday discounts. If the item you are looking at is not within your budget or an item that you need to purchase for someone, don’t buy it.
- Be sure to consider smaller items that you will need to buy such as stocking stuffers, decorations, etc.
Saving for the holidays on a consistent basis is easy with The Citizens Bank Company’s Christmas Club. We have club amounts of $5.00, $10.00 and $20.00 and your weekly deposit into your Christmas Club can be transferred from your Citizens Bank checking or savings account upon your request. If you make 50 consecutive deposits of the same amount, we will make the 51st deposit of that amount for you!
